юрВ американской юриспруденции является основанием для предъявления пострадавшим иска лицу, совершившему обман, если можно определить ущерб, нанесенный этим обманом. Понятия "обман и мошенничество" определяются "Статутом о мошенничестве" [Statute of Frauds], принятым еще в Англии в 1677. Он, в частности, требует заключения письменного контракта при всех сделках, касающихся недвижимости, и при поступлении на работу на срок более года. В праве классифицируются более десятка различных видов мошенничества
